Although a fairly recent start up, the combined HVAC & FIRE industry experience of MFP’s founders well-exceeds 100 years. Our motivation to create MFP Smoke was to address the disconnect between modern ‘Uber Society’ expectations and service delivery, which extends also to cost versus perceived value. Additionally, we noticed the increased workload and responsibility on Building Operators be they Owners or Property Managers. Taking a consultative approach with you empowers all stakeholders to confidently originate at decisions based on shared knowledge and understanding often with the objective of ensuring your property is fully compliant from the perspective of Passive Fire.
Our Services
Fire Dampers
Being suitably qualified and holding industry certifications is necessary to our competing in this space. We understand In house competencies to be essential to control service delivery and ensure quality outcomes. Documentation is key and often a requirement and was the driver to our developing software for Passive Inspections such as Doors and Fire Dampers to document AS1851 prescribed maintenance and create-populate the required Registers.

Our experience is that Fire Damper Registers are not up to date or more often do not exist. Further enquiry often reveals that ALL Fire Dampers inspections are outside the required five year period. Our software estimates the cost to create the necessary Fire Damper Register and additionally to complete “YR1” of the necessary inspections.
Fire Compartment Inspections
Works in Commercial properties often result in penetrations created between fire compartments or the packing of existing penetrations being disturbed. A brief questionnaire completed by the property owner or manager often results in an expanded inspection to recent tenancy works such as a fit out. or installation of an air-conditioning system or data cabling to ensure they have not undermined the integrity of the fire compartments. We report on our findings, and can provide a quote to restore a property’s fire-rating integrity if requested.
We have at our immediate disposal an array of Australian Standard approved products to reinstate the integrity of a fire zone, and provide before & after images of all incidences addressed which if requested we can forward to your ESM Auditor to close out the issue.
Proprietary Software
MFP’s proprietary software records the results of fire and smoke door inspections and also builds the required Register. All minor and major repairs and replacements are completed by our personnel and can be consequent to our own scheduled servicing or in response to a report compiled by an Assessor.
Car Parks
Car parks in small to mid-size apartments are often overlooked from the perspective of Essential Services. Often below ground, they are mechanically ventilated, and operate with a rise in Carbon Monoxide concentration, they are mechanically ventilated which operate relative to Carbon monoxide (CO) concentration. It is not common knowledge that the automation system – namely the CO Sensor(s) have to be calibrated at six-monthly intervals and included in the site ESMR folder. MFP have in-house competencies and certified equipment to complete the calibrations and provide the required documentation.
